From when I was young, I’ve always had a voice. I even lost it a few times because I was screaming the lyrics of Donna Summer too loud. Whenever I lost my voice, I resorted to other means to tell my story, whether that be scribbling on a whiteboard or busting out my wild dance moves. But in these moments of quiet, I ended up learning the stories of others. I felt selfish expressing myself, as my voice only represents a fraction of the people on earth. Growing up near Flint, MI, I discovered these beautiful perspectives that created a passion in me to vocalize them. My vivacious energy craved to bring inclusivity, life, and spirit into the design world. I prioritize to represent the underrepresented, and let them have a voice in my design.
